OMVS Signs Development Agreement with Spud McCool Media to Produce ‘Next Angry Birds’

On the Move Systems Corp. (OTCBB: OMVS), an emerging mobile technology company, signed a mobile applications development agreement today with mobile content provider Spud McCool Media Inc. (Spud Media). The two companies will collaborate to create innovative software products for sale and use with smartphones and tablet computers, a market forecast to reach $7.68 billion by the end of the year.

“As a start-up company, we’ve got big plans for the mobile app industry, but we don’t have the manpower yet to build the apps we’ve conceptualized,” said OMVS CEO Patrick Brown. “That’s where Spud Media comes in. They have the expertise and staff necessary to help us create slick new mobile apps that take advantage of the revolutionary functionality of today’s wireless devices."

“Together, we’re setting out to build the next Angry Birds or Pandora,” he added.

OMVS has targeted the mobile applications market for expansion due to its unprecedented growth rate. Analysts predict that by the end of the year, the app market’s total value will reach $7.68 billion, up from $349 million in 2008. Over the past year, app developers such as Glu Mobile, Inc. (NASDAQ: GLUU) have posted tremendous market gains. Glu’s stock price shot up from $1.54 per share to $6.10 behind the release of popular social gaming apps such as Contract Killer. OMVS’ new joint venture has already begun work to replicate that success.

“We’re particularly focused on new apps that include a social element,” Brown said. “The most successful apps hitting the market today allow users to share and compare on the go with friends.”

OMVS is dedicated to producing next-generation mobile technology to compete in an industry that includes Activision Blizzard, Inc. (NASDAQ: ATVI), Convio, Inc. (NASDAQ: CNVO) and KongZhong Corp. (NASDAQ: KONG).
