Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) has expanded its translation app for Android to 14 languages.

To try to totally bridge the language barrier, Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) has extended its translation tool for android to 12 new languages, including Russian and Mandarin.

Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) Translate for Android smartphones will now translate conversations into 14 languages in near real time.

Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) Translate research scientist Ashish Venugopal said, “We want to make sure that the language barrier is not what keeps people from communicating, or from participating in a market space. We want to make language something that culturally defines you, but doesn’t hold you back in any way. I think we’re at a point where using mobile technology to totally bridge the language barrier is near”.
