RecyclePerks Announces City Of Taylor’s Participation In Its Recycling Rewards Program
(PRLog - Jul 08, 2011) - JACKSONVILLE, Fla.– RecyclePerks, a recycling rewards incentive program that focuses on increasing involvement in communities across the nation, is pleased to announce the City of Taylor, Michigan’s participation in our recycling rewards program.
City of Taylor residents officially started the recycling program in their community on July 1. Taylor residents started seeing the benefits of the recycling program on Tuesday, July 5, when the first recycling pickup occurred by Midwestern Sanitation. The City of Taylor officials and RecyclePerks officials have been working together to create a seamless program that is just the right fit for the residents of Taylor.
With RecyclePerks, residents simply register online to participate, recycle and redeem rewards – three simple steps resulting in one giant impact on the world! Points are earned each time the resident recycles. Radio frequency identification (RFID) tags are attached to residents’ recycling containers – points are posted to each resident’s online account each time they recycle, and then the shopping freedom begins.
RecyclePerks aims to give something back to residents and communities for making the world a greener place, as well as giving haulers and communities a greater advantage of recyclables that results in profitable commodities. Residents earn points each time they recycle and then have the ability to login to their online account to redeem rewards from local and national businesses.
By encouraging households to recycle with the added incentive of RecyclePerks, more
recyclables are collected, which reduces waste that is otherwise destined for landfills.
The program follows a single-stream recycling system, which means that households have the ability to recycle everything in the one cart; a 96-gallon recycling cart provided by the City of Taylor. The new recycling carts are equipped with a radio frequency identification (RFID) tag that utilizies new technology to track how much is being recycled at each residence.
“With the addition of City of Taylor to the RecyclePerks program, we are proud to announce the expansion of our program to the state of Michigan and provide Taylor with a program that gives them the necessary incentive to reap benefits from recycling, as well as have a real impact on the whole environment,” said Barry Grahek, president of RecyclePerks. “We are also very excited that we have been able to garner the partnership of local Taylor businesses, so the benefit of the program will benefit Taylor residents as well as impact the economy as a whole.”
RecyclePerks is dedicated to increasing recycling efforts in communities throughout the world. Originally developed to help recycling companies spark interest in their clients to be more active in recycling by providing them with incentives, the program has grown in just a short time to be much more.
RecyclePerks helps rejuvenate national recycling efforts and creates a better future for our planet by rewarding participating residents with gift cards, discount coupons and other promotions from national and local retailers. Through its partnership with municipalities, haulers, local businesses and national corporations, RecyclePerks provides individuals with the ability to make a direct impact on the environment while earning benefits for their responsible actions at the same time. RecyclePerks ensures that these simple household recycling actions will have a tremendous effect in increasing recycling efforts nationwide. RecyclePerks is easy; it only takes three simple steps to make one giant impact on the world - register, recycle & redeem!
