Sprint Nextel (NYSE:S) said it formally filed a request to the Federal Communications Commission to block the pending merger between AT&T (NYSE:T) and T-Mobile USA. Sprint has been the most vocal opponent of the merger, which would combine the second- and fourth-largest wireless carriers in the U.S. Sprint, the No. 3 player, is seen as one of the biggest potential losers from the deal.
