UNIVERSAL CITY, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 05/04/11 -- Camelot Entertainment Group, Inc. (OTCBB: CMGR) ("Camelot") announced today that Camelot Distribution Group ("CDG") has acquired foreign distribution rights to NORMAN, a coming of age story about a high school student dealing with his father's terminal illness, senior year, and a new love interest. The film will be screening as part of Camelot's lineup in Cannes on May 11 and 15.
The film is directed by Jonathan Segal and stars Dan Byrd (Easy A, "Cougar Town"), Emily VanCamp ("Brothers and Sisters"), Adam Goldberg (Saving Private Ryan), and Academy Award nominee Richard Jenkins (The Visitor). Original score and songs are by indie darling Andrew Bird.
"NORMAN came to my attention during the Palm Springs Film Festival," stated Michael Kananack, Co-President of Distribution. "I was quite impressed with the film -- its production, story, and cast. Richard Jenkins is always a pleasure to see on screen, and the rest of the actors are just as impeccable. NORMAN is a fresh take on a high school coming of age story that pulls at your heart's strings."
NORMAN recently won multiple awards on the festival circuit, including the Silver Hugo New Directors Competition at the Chicago International Film Festival, Best Editing at Woodstock, and Best Actor (Dan Byrd) as well as Grand Prize Best Feature at Rhode Island. NORMAN also screened in competition at the Palm Springs International Film Festival and is official selection in the upcoming Seattle International Film Festival.
