VANCOUVER, BC -- (Marketwire) -- 04/08/11 -- Environmental Control Corporation ("EVCC") (OTCBB: EVCC) would like to congratulate the team at Michigan Technology University (Michigan Tech) for their performance at the 2011 SAE Clean Snowmobile Challenge held last month in Michigan. The team used a combination of unique and revolutionary concepts, including EVCC's catalytic muffler, leading them to a 6th place finish overall (out of 13) in the Internal Combustion category. The team was also awarded "Rookie of The Competition" for the zero emissions category of the competition.
Casey Anderson, Michigan Tech Team President, noted: "Overall, we were highly satisfied with EVCC's exhaust system. The exhaust came together very well and was neatly packaged in the machine just as we intended. During testing the 2011 exhaust setup was quieter than our 2010 setup at all five emissions testing modes. Unfortunately, due to other unforeseen problems we had at competition (none of which were caused by the exhaust), we were not able to run the noise competition. However, according to our dyno sound testing the 2011 setup is definitely quieter." He went on to add: "With more tuning time the set-up should be more than clean enough to be competitive in the future. Look for a strong finish from the team next year!"
The 2011 SAE Clean Snowmobile Challenge was held from March 7-12th, 2011 at Michigan Technology University's Keweenaw Research Center. Thirteen teams participated in the Internal Combustion division, with seven entering the zero emissions category. With a total of 20 entries, the 2011 competition was the largest in Challenge history.
EVCC was pleased with Michigan Tech's performance and the company is thankful for having had the opportunity to work with Michigan Tech in the timely development of environmentally-sound snowmobiles.
