UPDATE 1-Novellus Q4 beats Wall Street as shipments rise

Jan 31 (Reuters) - Chip-gear maker Novellus Systems Inc posted a quarterly profit that handily beat expectations, as shipments jumped 15 percent sequentially and revenue surged.
