The new fuel surcharge calculator for transportation industry professionals, introduced by Trucking Advantage, is now available on the App Storeā worldwide. The app has a custom user interface designed to resemble a vintage gas pump, is loaded with 37 currencies, and can be set to calculate with mpg, km/L, or L/100km. Another convenient feature is the in-app web view, bookmarked to the U.S. Department of Energy weekly fuel price index, which can also be pre-set to any web page of the user's choice.
"PocketFuelCal is versatile," explains Zach Womack of Trucking Advantage, "providing truckers with a reliable method to protect their profits from fuel price increases; while giving shippers, brokers, and buyers of commodities an accurate means to fairly compensate drivers without overpaying. PocketFuelCal can be used by any business traveler to quickly estimate fuel expenses for a trip."
The Department of Energy projects that on-highway diesel fuel retail prices in the U.S. will increase 6.1% in 2011, with refining margins also increasing due to growing global product demand and shutdowns of excess global refining capacity.
Trucking Advantage is giving away $500 in gas money to celebrate the launch. Visit http://truckingadvantage.com/fuel-surcharges for details.
