Identity theft is on the rise with 11.1 million victims and an increase of 12% last year. Effective September 1, 2010, Foremost(R) introduced two new endorsements to provide coverage for Identity Theft in Arizona, West Virginia and Wisconsin.
"With computer hackers getting information, stolen credit card numbers and social network browsing, the public needs to take precautions to avoid becoming a victim," says Georgia Edsall, Foremost personal lines product manager. "We already offer this type of endorsement for our Manufactured Home product, but are excited to add this option for our Dwelling Fire and Specialty Homeowner's products, as well."
This coverage is now available for Manufactured Home, Dwelling Fire and Specialty Homeowners in Arizona, West Virginia and Wisconsin effective September 1, 2010. Manufactured Home customers who previously had an endorsement for Identity Theft will find that the new endorsement has improved coverage and they will be automatically converted to the new coverage at renewal with no additional charge. Dwelling Fire and Specialty Homeowners who wish to have this coverage should contact their insurance agency and ask about adding the endorsement to their policy.
This coverage provides assistance in fixing identity problems and can also provide the tools to detect problems when they begin. Foremost's Identity Fraud endorsements are a comprehensive package of coverage and services to help customers safeguard their identity.
The coverage limit is $28,500 on the endorsements and they include the unlimited services of a professional personal fraud specialist, provided by Identity Theft 911(R), to help resolve details or other identity safety concerns. One of the endorsements also adds credit and public records monitoring services that scour millions of pieces of data to detect any signs of fraud.
"Foremost recognizes the critical need to protect its customers in an era of escalating identity theft and is providing them with state of the art protection and resolution services," said Matt Cullina, CEO of Identity Theft 911. "We are pleased to be helping them in this fight."
There are two versions of the endorsement: Identity Fraud Expense and Management. Identity Fraud Expense and Management Including Credit Monitoring.
