Wendy Wu Tours Wins Best Trade Campaign at TTG Awards
Leading escorted tours operator Wendy Wu Tours is delighted to announce that it has been awarded Best Trade Campaign at the acclaimed 2010 TTG travel awards. The China and Indochina tours specialist beat off stiff competition for the accolade, for which other contenders included Attraction World, Bournemouth Airport, Gold Medal, Premier Holidays, and Superbreak Mini holidays.
The awards are organised by one of the UK’s leading travel trade magazines and are regarded by many as the pinnacle of the travel industry. The event took place at the Grosvenor House Hotel in central London and aims to praise and celebrate all that the industry has achieved in the past year.
Over the past year, Wendy Wu Tours has strived to significantly raise its profile and reinforce its commitment of continued support for its trade partners. In order to fulfill this ambition the China holidays specialist launched its highly innovative and successful Wendy Wu Tours ‘Takeaway’ campaign. The ‘Takeaway’ box contained a ‘Why Wendy Wu Tours’ booklet detailing its unique selling points and listing its key contact and support telephone numbers for agent partners. The box also included two fun items - a fortune cookie containing a web address for agents to log on a claim a prize and a package of Chinese flowering tea.
To ensure maximum benefit was gained from this unique venture, The Wu Crew (business development managers from Wendy Wu Tours) personally delivered ‘Takeaway’ boxes to over 1200 of its key travel agent partners across the UK. These personalised visits were completed within a month and the campaign was underpinned with an additional USP sheet and branded chopsticks in keeping with the overall theme.
