APR Energy (http://www.aprenergy.com) has sponsored an event in La Esperanza, Peru promoting health services to the community in the locality of APR's power plant. In addition to sponsoring the event, APR donated vaccines and other much- needed medicines which were distributed to the hundreds of individuals who were in attendance. Local doctors and nurses were also present at the event to give general health check- ups and eye exams to the public. The health event and donations were geared toward children and families who live in the district of Manuel Arevalo, an impoverished area within the Municipality of La Esperanza. This event was also part of an ongoing campaign in the area co- sponsored by the Municipality of La Esperanza, Huggies, APR Energy and several private practice Peruvian physicians to promote better heath practices in the region.
"The completion of community projects (http://www.aprenergy.com) remains an important element of APR Energy's commitment to support a country's development," said Paul Marcroft, APR Energy Vice President of Sales & Marketing. "We work closely with our customers to ensure the project focus is aligned with critical local needs."
The event fell directly in line with APR Energy's Community Development Program which aims to improve upon and add to the quality of life within the communities where its power plants are located. APR Energy has hosted and sponsored many such community donation events in the areas surrounding its 60MW (http://www.aprenergy.com) Trujillo, Peru power plant since it became operational in early 2009.
