Habeas, Inc. (www.habeas.com), the company that certifies the reputations of legitimate email senders, today announced that MailChannels will be leveraging its email reputation database, SenderIndex, to intelligently route email traffic for its customers. MailChannels marks the 6th message security vendor that has joined the Habeas Network since the SenderIndex debut in May 2006
By controlling the flow of email into an organization, MailChannels Traffic Control solution provides companies with an essential new layer of email infrastructure protection. Traffic Control leverages data from Habeas SenderIndex to determine a sender's reputation and effectively allocate the appropriate network and email server resources. This process allows legitimate traffic to get through to the inbox, while slowing down and limiting traffic from suspicious sources, reducing illegitimate traffic by 95 percent.
"While we've long been able to identify potential spammers, it wasn't until Habeas came along that we could detect the good senders, which is far more important to us and our customers," said MailChannels CEO Ken Simpson. "SenderIndex provides us with the reputation information we need to detect SafeListed senders and give customers what they want: legitimate email into their inbox."
"Email reputation data is steadily becoming the bellwether for companies looking to more effectively manage inbound email," said Des Cahill, CEO of Habeas. "As organizations such as MailChannels use SenderIndex as a reputation resource, SafeListed senders will be better positioned to establish trust with receivers."
The Habeas Network consists of more than 250,000 receiving mail networks in over 170 countries representing ISPs and enterprises, such as corporations, universities and government agencies, who use Habeas to determine what mail should be delivered to the inbox. The Habeas Network provides enhanced delivery to over 600 million email inboxes worldwide.
