NH Economy's Facebook Fan Page: Three "No Bull" Reasons to Become a Fan

Concord, NH, December 31, 2009 --(PR.com)-- More than 350,000 New Hampshire adults (about a quarter of the state's total population) are on Facebook - double what it was in 2008. Since the fastest growing segment in NH is the 35+ crowd, it's a safe bet that most of NH's Facebook users are professionals of some kind, contributing to the state's economy as entrepreneurs, employers, or employees.

In response to this rapidly increasing adoption of social media, the state's Division of Economic Development (DED) is making it easier to engage, connect, and take advantage of resources and opportunities with the "No Bull" Fan Page on Facebook. Business professionals and residents alike can support DED's ongoing efforts to boost the state's economy - and serve their own interests, too - by becoming Fans at http://facebook.com/NoBullBusiness.

"Our mission is to help in-state businesses thrive, and attract new businesses to New Hampshire, the state with the most favorable tax climate, lowest crime rate, and best scores for child and family well-being in the country," says Steve Boucher, DED's Communications and Legislative Director.

"With Facebook, we can reach a demographic that traditionally hasn't taken advantage of the services we provide, and give them legitimate reasons to connect with us through social media."

Boucher gives three reasons in particular why Facebook users in New Hampshire and beyond should become Fans of the state's No Bull Fan Page:

1. Greater influence, visibility, and connections

Once you're a Fan, it only takes a moment to comment on DED's Facebook Fan Page. By doing so, "you become part of the conversation, you have the chance to build the network of trusted contacts you need for success, and you let us know you exist," Boucher says. "We can't help you until you let us know who you are and what you do."

2. Convenient, immediate access to innovative resources

DED shares news, tips, and insider opportunities nearly every business day for companies of all stripes. "Job training funds, new grant monies, workshops, events, promotional initiatives like Innovation Rocks or 1st Class Business - we cover it all," Boucher says. Becoming a Fan, he adds, gives you access to these resources in the simplest way possible: Inside your Facebook news feed.

3. Show support for the Big Vision

When business in the state does better, everyone living in the state does better. "Boosting our economy boosts the quality of life in New Hampshire," Boucher notes. "We're not just here for the low tax burden. We're here for outdoor recreation in every season, sports, arts, and natural wonders." Becoming a Fan of DED on Facebook demonstrates your investment not only in business, but in the life you want to create in NH for you and your family.

With so many Granite State residents on Facebook already, Boucher asks Facebook mavens and other socially-savvy networkers to reach out to their contacts in NH and beyond and suggest they become Fans of the DED's Facebook Fan Page. His goal in 2010 is to make http://facebook.com/NoBullBusiness the social networking hub for championing economic growth in New Hampshire, an extraordinary place to live and work.
