Stocks reversed higher after spending most of the day in the red Wednesday. The Dow and Nasdaq rose 0.5%, the S&P 500 0.4% and the NYSE composite 0.1%. Volume was lower across the board. Hi-Tech Pharmacal (HITK) gapped up, adding 2.65 to 24.48. Before the open, the drugmaker smashed expectations with a 567% pop in fiscal Q2 profit. It also trounced views on revenue.
