The stock market trimmed losses Tuesday, closing modestly lower. The Nasdaq fell 0.3%, the NYSE composite and Dow were off 0.2%, and the S&P 500 slipped less than 0.1%. Volume fell on the NYSE but rose on the Nasdaq, giving the latter a distribution day. Few high-rated stocks were active. Netflix (NFLX) fell 0.71 to 59.67 although it's trimmed much of its earlier loss. The online DVD rental company may be forming a three-weeks-tight pattern.
